いやーこれは楽しみですね。
ブライアンの透明な声と天才的なメロディセンスが冴まくるのではないでしょうか。
いやーこれは楽しみだ。

ブライアン･ウィルソンといえばビーチ･ボーイズですが、ビーチ・ボーイズって案外評価されていない気がします。いや、評価はされているんだけど、『サーフィンUSA』を代表とするお気楽アメリカンミュージックの印象が強いイメージがあります。でもですね、このバンドぶっちゃけすごいと思います。ビートルズのライバルを強いて挙げるとするなら、世間はストーンズを挙げるのでしょうが、僕は正直ビーチボーイズだと思います。

ビートルズの名盤『ラバー・ソール』を聞いたブライアン･ウィルソンが衝撃を受けて『ペット・サウンズ』を作ったのは有名な話ですね。でもって自らが作った『ペット・サウンズ』をさらに超えようと思ったところでノイローゼになってしまった。その時に作ろうと思っていたアルバムが幻の名盤と言われる『スマイル』です。

この人がかわいそうなのはビートルズがジョンとポールという不世出の天才を二人も抱えていたのに対して、孤独だったことですね。正直、ビートルズが奇跡的だっただけなのですが。

そんなブライアンが現在も活動していて素晴らしい音楽を提供している事はとても素敵なことだと思います。
